Quality you can taste!

We want to Share the Love in everything we do, from how farmers are paid to how we caretake the earth, from the quality of our processing to the consistency of our product. This is why we guarantee what we make and know you’ll love it!

All our cacao is all from Guatemala, whose climate and soils grow some of the best cacao. We source exclusively from small family farms, located in an area with a long history as a prime cacao growing region.

The cacao is certified organic, without the use of pesticides or other chemicals. We pay above international prices for cacao, ensuring that the small-scale farmers and workers all along the production process receive a fair wage.

The farm we work with selects premium varieties to plant and propagate. After the cacao pods are harvested, the cacao beans are fully fermented by professionals trained in this vital, often lacking, step. Once the beans have undergone their transformation, they are sun-dried and sent to our chocolate shop.

In our bean-to-bar chocolate shop, we then precision roast the beans and remove the husks. The hand-crafted block of cacao we carry is made by grinding the nibs into a fine paste and tempering the final product.

A morning breakfast on the go

Frothy, rich and ice-cold.

A great way to start your day! This simple & quick recipe will...

The full dose for when you have a couple of hours to yourself...

Beautiful Plant Medicine

Love this company so much! 10/10 recommend the 1lb bars of ceremonial grade cacao, they last for such a great amount of time (do keep in mind I’m not a daily cacao drinker). Smells amazing and tastes beautiful.

The Best Cacao

I just ordered my 3rd bar from Embue. I have been drinking pure cacao for many years, and since finding Embue, it is the only brand I have continuously gone back to. The value is outstanding. The cacao is rich and lovely. I am 7 mos pregnant and have been enjoying this cacao regularly since my second trimester (a light dose: 15-20 grams). It is such a lovely way to start my day and I highly recommend.

Amazing cacao

I absolutely love Embue cacao, specifically the bar, it adds another layer of intentionality to the process and ritual of creating my morning (or afternoon) cup of cacao having to shave the bar down to my desired dose.

Thank you so much!

Embue review

This is the ONLY place I purchase my Ceremonial Cacao from. It's the best out there. The flavor, the energy of the plant is top notch!

Single Origin Ceremonial Cacao

Cultivated with intention

Our Single-origin cacao is from small family farms in Guatemala. Guatemala has a rich history connected to cacao, and the farms are located in the Alta Verapaz region, home to Q’eqchi’ Maya families. The farms work with a central facility to cooperate on the processes of fermenting & drying.

Quality is everything

We pay a premium price for a premium product. Our long-term relationship offers us consistently high-quality cacao, and the farms access to a stable and high value market so the farmers can earn a living wage. The farmers association is trained in high quality cacao bean production, from varietal selection to the fermentation & sun-drying process, keeping more value-added at the source and ensuring professional standards in growing & processing.

Our Sourcing Reflects Four Values:

  • Ceremonial Quality
  • Social Responsibility
  • Ecological Awareness
  • Transparency
