Price Increase & Inventory Update
On Our Price Increase:
We wanted to give folks more information about our recent price increase to stay transparent about our business. Since our founding in 2010, we have never increased the price of our cacao. Over that time period, our costs have steadily risen. We have continued to increase the quality of the cacao we are sourcing, as well as to pay higher wages to the folks working to produce our product. Because of this, we have increased the price to $26.50/lb. We do our best to keep prices reasonable and have kept the price increase as low as we can.
Over the past year, we have had a couple periods where we have been out of stock, at times for too long! We have been working to avoid this problem as we realize you all depend on us for high quality cacao, for personal and ceremonial use. Please know that we take this seriously. The main reasons we have had this issue are because we are working with a single farm that produces the quality of cacao we want and because in a country like Guatemala, there are often unforeseen delays in orders (customs, electricity shortages, etc). We are doing what we can to ensure that we have inventory in stock at all times. We appreciate the patience that you all give us!
